How the Inchworm moves

Think of the movement as one continuous trip out to a plank and back to standing:

  1. Stand tall with your feet about hip-width apart.
  2. Hinge forward, place your hands on the floor, and walk your hands forward.
  3. Continue until your body reaches a strong high-plank position.
  4. Walk your hands back toward your feet while keeping your legs as comfortable as possible.
  5. Roll or hinge back up to standing, then repeat.

The photos show the walkout and plank portion; the exercise begins and ends standing.
